Gibsons releases 2009 Beano puzzle

As is now tradition, the jigsaw features a festive, specially commissioned piece of Beano artwork.

This year, however, as fully approved by rights owner DC Thomson, Desperate Dan from The Dandy comic also makes an appearance.

Gibsons has produced an annual limited edition Beano puzzle for the last seven years. This year due to consumer and retail demand, the puzzle is now a higher 1000 piece count and no longer has a limited run.

Ian Downes from Start Licensing commented: “Gibson’s are a well trusted licensee and their annual Beano jigsaw puzzle is a cornerstone of our classic Beano and Dandy licensing programme.

"A puzzle of this kind is a great way of showcasing the comic characters and the great skill of the comic artists.”

Rebecca Caine, marketing manager at Gibsons added: “The Beano puzzle has become a Christmas staple for us. This year we’re delighted to report high demand, so we’re no longer keeping this as a limited edition.
