Firm creates bespoke version of recycling game for Leeds primary schools.
Orchard Toys has joined forces with Leeds City Council to help teach city school children about recycling.
To assist the council in achieving its goals for educational attainment and reducing environmental impact in the city, Orchard Toys has produced 500 limited edition copies of the What’s Rubbish? game, branded with the Leeds City Council logo and strapline.
Simon Newbery, MD at Orchard Toys said: “When Leeds City Council first approached us to enquire whether we could produce a bespoke version of What’s Rubbish? we jumped at the chance.
“Leeds children will learn the importance of recycling while playing What’s Rubbish? which will help them towards becoming responsible members of the community.”
Cllr James Monaghan executive board member for Environmental Services, Leeds City Council said: “Schoolchildren are the next generation of recyclers and this fun game will help them learn good recycling habits and raise awareness about protecting the environment.”

The council plans to roll out the games to Leeds’ primary school children over the next few months.
All Orchard Toys products are made in the UK from 100 per cent recycled board, and the paper used for printed covers is sourced from sustainable forests and coated with a water-based varnish.
