Annual sales put the toy at the top of the charts as the UK’s best selling car.
The iconic toy’s average annual sales of 133,333 mean it is the UK’s best-selling car, outstripping the Ford Focus which sold 126,928 in 2007, the Vauxhall Astra selling 113,894 and the Ford Fiesta at 102,872.
Average sales in the UK also mean that, statistically, by the age of four years, every child in the UK will have either owned or shared a Cozy Coupe.
The toy is also top of the league for its health credentials, helping children to burn off around 33 calories for every 20 minutes of play.
Ron Brawer, managing director of MGA’s Little Tikes said: “Year after year sales of Cozy Coupe show it to be one of the nations most popular toys, encouraging active outdoor play that’s great for promoting healthy young bodies and minds.”
To mark its birthday this year, the firm has introduced a 30th Anniversary Edition. Remaining true to classic design, the new edition is in the familiar bright red and yellow colours and sports a smiling face.
The Cozy Coupe 30th anniversary edition is available now. The Princess Cozy Coupe, Tikes Patrol Police car and Ride & Rescue Cozy Coupe will be available at www.littletikes.co.uk from July 2009.
