Following the success of the Santander/Abbey bank TV advert, featuring the famous driver as an Airfix model, the firm has launched a new Lewis Hamilton Vodafone McLaren Mercedes kit.

Each kit includes 17 pieces to make up a total length of 148mm and width of 58mm. All parts are pre-painted to ensure every detail of the vehicle is included to create an authentic replica.

Darrell Burge, Airfix marketing manager said: “Following on from the success of the Santander TV advertising campaign, there was much demand for us to create a kit that would be to market by Christmas this year.

“We’ve managed to achieve this by using assets and knowledge within the Hornby team and have come out with a product that should satisfy the collector and the casual purchaser, who both can achieve a fabulously finished product to be proud of.”
