Marlborough-based indie Ducks is closing after more than 40 years in business.
Tony and Mary Gray (pictured) are closing the shop that they have run since 1965, blaming a combination of the downturn in the economy and the rise in Internet buying.
Mr Gray, whose grandfather Herbert Duck gave the shop its name when he took it over in 1926, said toy sales peaked about five or six years ago.
He said: "For the last three years our accountant has been telling us to consider the future of the shop. Since the downturn in the economy people have had less money to spend and takings have gone down noticeably.
