US distributor, Bandai Entertainment, acquires animated film based on Tamagotchi.
The feature-length film, Eiga de Tōjō! Tamagotchi Doki Doki! Uchū no Maigotchi!?, has garnered more than 700,000 viewers and over 750 million yen at the Japanese box office.
It is the second theatrical project based on the brand, following Bandai’s production of Tamagotchi Honto no Hanashi in 1997.
No details on a UK premiere are available yet.
