Japanese retailer turns around last year’s loss of almost £600 million to record profit.
Toys R Us Japan has posted a profit of £1, 283, 779 for the year ending January 31st, 2008. The profit represents a significant turn around for the firm, which suffered a staggering loss of about £592 million for the year ending January 31st, 2007.
Sales dipped slightly to £936 million, from £951 million a year earlier. However, the retailer forecasts an improvement in the year ahead, estimating sales to reach £945 million by January 31st, 2009.
