Firm acquires 33.4 per cent stake in Tsuburaya Production, creator of the Japanese television series Ultraman.
The deal, worth 900 million yen, gives Bandai the exclusive rights in Japan to produce toys and other Ultraman related merchandise.
The firm purchased the stake from TV commercial producers TYO.
