Spinmaster is launching an online skatepark to support its Tech Decks mini-skateboard brand.
Going live in the summer of 2008, Tech Deck Live is a virtual world, based on the popular Tech Deck fingerboards, where players can skate for free online against thousands of other riders.
"We are excited about combining the authenticity and fun of Tech Deck with the immersiveness of virtual worlds, providing a truly unique online experience for kids," said John Reale, Vice President of Spin Master Studios.
Players can log on and create their own custom skater, deck themselves out with the latest gear, and ride all the hottest Tech Deck skateboards.
Players can meet to compete, freestyle skate, chat with friends and rivals, trade stuff, upgrade gear, play mini-games and ride their way up to the ultimate challenge - getting chosen to join a pro-skate team.
"We are designing Tech Deck Live to combine the game play of traditional action sports games with all the player interaction and community features of the latest online games," said Robert Bryant, Senior Producer.
Tech Deck Live will be free to play, but monthly subscribers will be able to access premium content such as their own virtual rooms to deck out with their gear.
