The Department
Consumer Products facilitates the development of merchandise for our Nickelodeon brands through UK retail outlets. They license all types of products with the key areas being: Toys, Books, Video/DVD and Video Games.

They do not manufacture and retail the product internally but work with third party companies, “licensees”, who sell our branded product at retail and pay a defined royalty on each item sold.  Another key aspect of their business is liaising with all UK retailers from Tesco and Toys R Us to New Look to ensure they support Nickelodeon brands by stocking the licensees’ product.

Job Description
Reporting into the UK Vice President, but also collaborating with the European Brand Management team at Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products, this role’s main responsibilities include:

Ĝ Presenting at buyer level to all retailers to ensure that our properties are getting selected over our competitors.
Ĝ Working closely with UK Vice President who will be presenting at Director level to encourage support across all categories.
Ĝ Working with licensees to support retailer pitches by way of joint presentations.
Ĝ Implementing tentpole marketing activities.  This will involve liaising with licensees, retailers and internal teams in implementing in-store activities/promotions, creation of point-of-sales material, print ads and on-air and online support.
Ĝ Initiating cross sell product leaflets/booklets to promote merchandise into new channels or inserts into existing products.
Ĝ Overseeing of all UK marketing administration duties in collaboration with UK Vice President.
Ĝ Managing the Marketing/Retail Budget.
Ĝ Planning and running trade and consumer ads, liaising with designers and the creative team at Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products.
Ĝ Working closely with Nickelodeon UK’s Consumer and Commercial Marketing teams to maximise budgets and ensure Consumer Products get maximum exposure in all activities run by the channel.
Ĝ Working closely with the marketing assistant on activities such as:
o Compiling quarterly newsletters to be sent to licensees.
o Compiling and submitting weekly eNews to all licensees.
o Sourcing Market/Retail information and updates.
o Sourcing premiums for retail promotions and goody bags for events.
o Coordinating regular licensee and retail workshops to enhance communication and product sales.
o Coordinating events such as Brand Licensing Europe and Nickelodeon Annual Showcase (aka Bafta).
o Collating all marketing materials and updating all presentations/marketing materials/scheduling and rating docs/licensee retailer listings

Ideal Candidate 
The successful candidate for this role will have strong presentation skills, be proactive and be able to demonstrate initiative. They will have had prior consumer product experience to manager level, and have a great understanding of retail, maybe from previous experience dealing with retailers. Ideally they will have a good understanding of marketing and implementing strategic plans.

They will have great communication skills, and be able to hit the ground running in this role. They will be able to demonstrate excellent teamwork, whilst being about to work under their own initiative and produce excellent results to tight deadlines. Overall they will have a passion for kids’ brands, and show that they have great enthusiasm for Nickelodeon which is essential for this position.
